Sebastian Rohr - Artist
Born in Germany in 1984, educated in Ireland, graduated in 2008 from IADT (Dublin Ireland) with a first class Honours BA in Fine Art moved to Berlin in 2010 and found a temporay home in the Kunsthaus Tacheles. My time there taught to view the abundant debris of our consumer culture in a diffent way, not as waste but a continuously renewable source of raw materials (sheetmetal, screws, motors, switches, etc). The focus of my work going forward will be to attempt to combine my figuative soft steel sculpture with the graceful motion of kinetic Artists such as Reuben Margolin, Arthur Ganson, Anthony Howe and the glorious lunacy of Jean Tinguely.
